This incomplete piece, perhaps intended as a table cover or
runner, is constructed of hexagons in English
paper-piecing style. The chintz fabrics are a vibrant
record of the 1830 - 1840 era. The two pheasants
appliquéd in the center are cut out from a chintz fabric.
The maker of this unusual piece is unknown.
