Genesee Valley Quilt Club Show 2002

Blending Art and Tradition

The 2002 Genesee Valley Quilt Club Annual Show is being held at the Rochester Museum & Science Center, 657 East Avenue, Rochester, NY Saturday & Sunday, October 19 & 20.

Fourteen quilts from the RMSC's collection will be displayed along with art & traditional quilts made by Genesee Valley Quilt Club members. The museum quilts are illustrated below -- clicking on a quilt will display a larger image and information.

These quilts were chosen from the collection based upon the following criteria:

  1. The quilt had documentation which indicated its historical value to the Genesee Valley region of New York.

  2. The quilt was in good enough condition that it would not be damaged by exhibiting it.

  3. The quilt had not been shown in recent years in an exhibit.

  4. It represented a good example of the era or quilt genre; especially within this region.
