All content in LibCat, including images, are copyrighted by the Rochester Museum & Science Center, unless otherwise noted. Images may be saved or printed for educational, personal, or research use free of charge. All other rights are reserved by the RMSC. Public use, or redistribution of images or data is expressly forbidden without written permision from RMSC.

All images printed for educational or personal purposes should be accompanied by the credit line: From the Collections of the Rochester Museum & Science Center, Rochester, NY.

Online images are low-resolution JPEGs. Users with a need for publication quality, high-resolution images may request high-resolution images (either as digital files or prints). Please see our fee schedule for costs for image use.

Requesting Permission to Use an Image

To request high-resolution images and/or permission to reproduce images (including use for decoration, on a website, in a multimedia presentation, on exhibit, in a publication of any kind, or for commercial use of any kind), please do the following:

1. download the Image Use Procedures and read sections I and II, as well as whichever section III through VIII apply to your particular use(s).
2. complete and submit an Image Request Form. Either download the text version and email it to Elizabeth Sikorski, or download the pdf version and mail or fax it to:

3. You will receive notification when a decision has been reached on your request. If permission for your use is granted, you will receive a Terms of Use Agreement, which you should sign and return with your payment. The Agreement will be completed by RMSC staff with the details of your request and sent to you upon approval of the request.
4. After your signed Terms of Use Agreement and payment have been received, your images will be delivered according to your request.

Note: The RMSC reserves the right to deny your request for high-resolution images. All approved requests will require that a Terms of Use Agreement be signed by the person making the request. Please allow 3 weeks from the date of your request for the completion of your order. Requests that must be fulfilled within less than three weeks may be subject to an additional Rush Order fee.
